lawn mowerWith the summer weather finally here, our days are filled with warm temperatures and sunny days! While most Boston residents are enjoying the change in weather, it can also cause an unhealthy-looking lawn. Done Right Landscape has put together a few suggestions on how you can keep your lawn looking green and healthy all summer long!

  • To keep your lawn looking nice and neat, you typically want to trim it once a week in the spring and twice a week in the summer. Not only will this help to keep it looking neat, but will keep it up pest and clutter-free.
  • When it comes times for fertilizer, use one that is exclusively for summer so that you can encourage strength and decrease the chances of moss and weeds growing.
  • If you have a poor drainage system, it can leave your lawn sparse or patchy during the winter month. If you had to remove a good amount of weeds and moss, there most likely will be holes that need to be filled in. Correct this by breaking up the surface soil and smoothing it out to create an even surface. Sow seeds and be sure to rake them to combine them with the surface. If you’re experiencing dry weather a few days after you sow your seed, try watering the area gently and you should see the grass around 10 days.
  • If we have a dry, rain-free summer, you should be watering your lawn every 7-10 days to prevent it from drying up and losing its’ color.
